Adding & Tracking Keywords
Updated October 12, 2026
To add keywords to your projects, go to the Rankings tab on your project. Keywords are the default sub tab shown.
Then, go to the '+ add keywords' button to add one keyword per line.
To search for a location, open the location box and search. We use Google's location coding so if it's on Google, it should show.
When you first add your keywords, we do a deep scan of the top 100 results and find your position. Then, Saturday to Thursday we scan that page (not all 100, because you shouldn't be moving that much daily). This allows us to provide unlimited keyword tracking and enables quick SERP updates.
Then, every Friday we do a deep scan of the top 100 results again. If you are no longer found or have changed page, it'll update then.
When done, click the 'Add Keywords' box to submit them. Ranking results take a few minutes to come through.
On service projects, keyword tracking is unlimited. On SEO Software projects (accounts that have them), keywords count against your plan's keyword blocks - the scanning schedule above is exactly the same.
Looking back at a past period
The date range picker on the Rankings tab is a time machine. Pick a range that ends today and you see today's positions with the movement since the start of the range. Pick a range that ends in the past, say September or the 10th to the 15th of a month, and the whole tab moves back: the position cells, the top 3 / top 10 / top 100 counts and the net change are all as they stood at the end of that range, with the summary reading "As of 30 September 2026, you had ...". The chart ends on that day too, and the PDF, Excel and CSV exports, report links and reports built for a past period show the same figures.
Across all your projects
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere in the dashboard to search your keywords and prompts across every project and jump straight to them.
On the projects overview, the column settings (the gear icon at the top right of the table) can add Keywords, AI Prompts and Net Change (30d) columns, so you can compare projects at a glance. Net Change (30d) is the same figure the Rankings tab's summary shows for the last 30 days, and every column is sortable.
